How to Outsource Content Writing

Blog writer having writers blog. Wondering how she can outsource blog writing.
Are you looking to outsource content writing for your blog but don’t know where to look? We’ve got you covered.

If you want to grow your blog readership and organic traffic, you need lots of good content. By “lots” I mean hundreds of articles. Writing one blog post per month or even one per week isn’t going to cut it. Especially if you are looking to create a consistent flow of passive income from your blog.

The problem is, who has time to write several articles per week? Between my full time job, running other businesses, family time… there as no time left in my day. I knew if I wanted to grow my organic traffic faster than a snails pace, it was time to outsource content writing for my blog.

Outsourcing Blog Writing

Outsourcing content writing seemed like a no brainer, but where do you start? How do I find someone qualified to outsource blog writing? Especially for my niche, wholesaling real estate. This is a very targeted niche.

I found it wasn’t easy finding an outsourced content writer who was affordable, fit my writing style and, probably most importantly, had experience writing SEO optimized articles. I knew there were freelance blog writers out there, but how do you find them?

The good news is, freelance content writers do exist! However, they are a dime a dozen and most of them fall into the “average” to “below average” category. The ole’ adage remains true, you get what you pay for! Don’t worry, this doesn’t mean you have to break the bank to outsource your blog writing. I have found some really good writers at affordable prices.

How to Find The Right Freelance Writer

I have tried quite a few different freelance companies, but I have had the most success with Fiverr’s Outsourced Content Writers. I would share the exact writers I use, but selfishly I don’t want them to get too busy so they can’t write for me anymore 😉.

One thing you have to understand when outsourcing blog writing- even if you find a good blog writer, they may not be the best fit for your niche. Or they may not be the best fit for the writing style you want.

Not to worry, there are plenty of good content writers out there though. Finding one that fits your niche, writing style and budget is just a few clicks away.

Start by going HERE or click on the image below…

After you have landed on this page, you will want to select “articles & blog posts” as the category. Next click the “service options” pull down menu and tell Fiverr what language you prefer. They also have a list of common topics you can select. If you can’t find your topic, that’s okay, just leave the boxes unchecked.

There are some other service options you can select such as tone, article type and SEO options. The more boxes you check, the better matches you will get. Make sense so far?

U.S. Based Content Writers

I have had better luck with U.S. based blog writers for outsourcing. Don’t get me wrong, there are some great writers out there in other countries. In my experience, it just takes longer to find them. If your target market is English speaking United States citizens, I would recommend looking for a writer that is U.S. based. Typically, you will pay more if you select a US based content writer, but I have found some good freelance blog writers that are still relatively affordable.

Outsourcing Blog Writing: For best results, select United States in the “Seller Lives In” section.

You can also select a budget for your project. If you want a good outsourced content writer, I would expect to pay between $75-200 for a 500-750 word blog post. I have found some good US based content writers that will write 1,000 word blog posts for around $100, but there’s not many. Many of the good ones charge $200+ for a 1,000 word post.

My preference is 1,000 words since it gives me more opportunities to target my SEO keywords and optimize my content for Google.

Start a Conversation

Fiverr allows you start a conversation with the freelance writer before placing an order.

Another nice feature of Fiverr is they allow you start a conversation with the seller prior to placing your order. I think it’s extremely important to have some dialogue first before making a decision. Now is your opportunity to ask them some questions to make sure they are good fit.

Ask her if she has any experience writing about “your topic”.

Ask him to share some recent articles he published so you can get an idea of his writing style and tone.

Find out if she has experience with topic research and writing SEO optimized content and to provide examples.

See how quickly he or she responds. If they are slow to respond, is that someone you want to work with?

If you have a custom order request (more or less words, research, etc) ask how that would change the price

This might sound petty, but were there any grammatical or spelling errors in their response? We all make mistakes, but if you are hiring a writer I think they should be held to a higher standard!

Final Selection and Delivery

Once you narrowed it down, it’s time to place your first order! After the order is placed, there will be a few questions you have to answer for the freelancer. Typically they will ask for your website, niche, title and purpose of the article. The more information you can provide the better.

Most of these writers will do their own research on the topic and many of them have experience writing SEO optimized content. It’s also a good idea to give them some keywords and key phrases you want to rank for.

Tip: If you are serious about growing your organic traffic and eventually monetizing your blog, I highly recommend signing up for Semrush. This is an excellent tool to help you come up with topics, keywords and key phrases to target that will increase your traffic quickly. It’s basically a cheat code for ranking in Google fast.

Fiverr can do a lot more than help you outsource blog writing. I use Fiverr for many things in my wholesaling real estate business. If you like my logos, they also came from Fiverr!
